Nissan Europe were looking for a world first to raise awareness of their e-NV200 all-electric MPV. The brief was to make the vehicle the focal point of a party. I developed an ambitious list of party ideas, many of which the client couldn’t resist. Innovation was key; they wanted world firsts.
With a short lead time, we had to make an impact with a debut at a major sporting event. On approving the concept, the client pushed for a launch at the UEFA Champions League football final in Berlin. The PARTe-VAN sat outside the Olympiastadion and featured a rooftop DJ booth, 14,000W sound system, automated cocktail maker, LED dance floor, Augmented Reality screens and the world’s largest solar-powered disco ball. There was a silent disco option, with headphones and branded LED wristbands for events where the sound system couldn’t be used.
After success in Berlin, where the PARTe-VAN was swamped by football fans, it was put on a European tour of events and used as an attractor at dealer events promoting electric mobility.
