Nissan Europe wanted to create a bespoke version of the X-Trail, appealing exclusively to dog owners. I developed a concept car which built on the standard model and offered a set of practical and innovative features.
As well as being a PR activation, Nissan wanted a robust solution that could potentially go into production. During production, I further developed relationships with bespoke automotive detailing specialists and was in constant contact with the client to ensure the new parts were manufactured in line with the design of the original vehicle. I created a brand for the variant and applied it to the key fob, tail gate and marketing collateral.
The X-Trail 4dogs was a hit with journalists and dog owners, gaining positive reviews. The video post has over half a million views on the Nissan YouTube channel alone, with many social influencers racking up hits. Nissan are so happy with this media-friendly model, they're planning a production version as an option for dog owners.
